The Tolerance Group
DOC-REF: TG-0201TERMS OF SERVICE

Terms of Service

Last updated October 7, 2026. Effective on use.

Read it. Nobody does, but you will be held to it anyway.

1. What this is

The Tolerance Group is a work of fiction and a social terminal built on the AT Protocol (the network behind Bluesky). The terminal lets operatives file Reports, Inquiries and Briefs, verify one another's files, and read the shared archive. Everything the Group, PINK IRIS, Doris or any other character says is fiction. Nothing here is real surveillance, real emergency reporting, or real advice.

2. Who may use it

You must be old enough to hold an AT Protocol account where you live and at least 13 years old. If you use the terminal with an account from another provider (for example Bluesky), that provider's terms apply to that account as well as these.

3. Operative accounts

We can host an AT Protocol account for you on our own server, with a handle ending in .tolerance.group. That account is yours: you choose the password, you can sign in to it with any compatible client, and you can ask us to remove it. A handle is a claim on a name, not property. We may release a handle that is abandoned, deleted, or used to break these terms. Keep your password safe; we cannot see it and cannot recover it, only reset it by email.

4. What you publish

  • You keep ownership of what you write. Records you file are stored in your own AT Protocol repository, and AT Protocol records are public by design.
  • By filing a record you allow the terminal, and the services it relies on, to read, index, display, quote, link to and share it, including in the Group's daily summaries and in the "Declassify" feature, which publishes a post to your own account at your request.
  • You are responsible for what you publish. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share.
  • Removing a record from your repository removes it from the terminal on the next sync. Copies already made elsewhere on the network, such as quotes and caches, are outside our control.

5. Rules

Do not use the terminal to:

  • harass, threaten, or target anyone, or publish another person's private information;
  • post hate, sexual content involving minors, or content that is illegal where you or we are located;
  • impersonate another person or the Group's own accounts in a way meant to deceive;
  • spam, run bots against the terminal, or try to disrupt, probe or break it;
  • file fake verifications, or trade verifications, to manipulate the archive.

This is a horror setting. Dark and unsettling fiction is welcome. Real-world harm is not.

6. Moderation

We may hide, remove from the terminal, or stop displaying any record or account, and may block an account from the terminal's features, at our discretion and without notice where we think it necessary. Hosted accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these rules may be suspended or removed. Moderation of the terminal does not remove anything from your own repository on another provider.

7. Automated accounts

The Group runs automated accounts, including the account @tolerance.group (PINK IRIS), which posts a daily summary, and @doris.tolerance.group, a character who may reply when someone writes that she is not real. They are software. To stop Doris replying to you, answer her with "stop" or put "no bots" in your profile. Either is respected.

8. Availability

This is a small independent project. It may change, pause or end, and features may be removed. We do not promise it will always be available or that your records will always appear in it.

9. No warranty and limits

The terminal is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from its use, from the actions of other users, or from the AT Protocol network or any third-party service it relies on.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continued use means you accept the update. Questions, removal requests and reports: iris@tolerance.group.
